The facility is approved for 150 people.
The building was inaugurated in 1903 and was designed by the architect C. Fr. Sandgren. The building has housed premises for the activities of Nysätra Tingslag. At the end of the 1960s, an organisational change was made and Nysätra Tingslag was closed down. This meant that court hearings ceased in the building.
The former courthouse in Ånäset is a reminder of the history of the judicial system and of the special architecture of the area. Against this background, the County Administrative Board declared the building a listed building worthy of preservation.
